Welcome to the DofE!
By doing your DofE, you’re in for an amazing adventure and masses of fun as you take part in a range of activities, all leading to the achievement of an Award that’s recognised by universities and employers alike.
Southampton City Explorers offers all three Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards: Bronze (Year 9+, Silver (Year 10+) and Gold (Year 11+).
What is DofE?
With assistance from adult Leaders, you will select and set objectives in each of the following areas:
Volunteering: Undertaking service to individuals or the community. (Such as becoming a young leader)
Physical: Improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities.
Skills: Developing practical and social skills and personal interests.
Expedition: Training, practice for and completion of an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.

Kayaking training will take place during weekly on-the-water sessions at Woodmill Activity Centre on Sunday mornings, starting Sunday 18 April and continuing throughout the Summer Term.

Gold level: Residential & Expedition dates
For Gold, there are a range of choices for your Residential & Expeditions with our partners at Hampshire Scouts. We will share these with you throughout the year.

Step 3: Registration
When you start doing your DofE, you need to pay a £30.00 fee (Bronze/Silver) or £38.00 fee (Gold) for your Welcome Pack, which includes your eDofE account and the certificate and badge when you achieve your Award.
When completing the online form you will need the following information:

DofE Leaders: Amanda Jukes & Luke Hall. Ask your leader if you are unsure which name to use.
