International Trips: Kandersteg 2025

🚞 Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) 2025

Dates: 24h July (morning) to 3rd August 2025 (evening)

What will we be doing at KISC?

• Having fun!

• Meeting Scouts from around the world

• Undertaking many activities and games alongside other Scouts. Activities may include hiking, white water rafting, swimming, trotti biking, rodelbahn, trip to the Jungfrahoch, tubing, glacier walking, camp fires, Outdoor climbing in the Swiss Alps! and more.

• The actual programme will be decided and planned by the young people within a budget and then shaped by the staff at KISC.

Costs

We understand that a trip like this can be expensive, so we're aiming to get the best value for the Explorers. This means the trip will be between £900-£1100 for the 10 days, which is super good value for the location and activities.

The price of the trip covers all expenses including return coach and airline ticket from Southampton to Switzerland, all food, activity costs and insurance.

It's also worth noting that there will be fundraising opportunities throughout the next 12 months, which can bring down the be cost significantly.

In the past many participants have fundraised their entire fee. Essentially, if you work hard at your fundraising, you are more likely to raise more. If you sit back and let others do it, you are less likely to raise the money. We also have a discretionary fund, which is available for those less well off and that combined with fundraising should mean that cost should not be a factor that stops anyone who wants to come.

In order for this trip to happen we need the assurance that there is enough explorers interested to make it viable, so if you're interested please sign up by 21st July and pay the initial £50 deposit to confirm your place.

⛺️ Why Kandersteg?

It was Robert Baden-Powell’s dream to have a permanent mini-jamboree site so he opened KISC (Kandersteg International Scout Centre) in 1923. Thousands of scouts and guides from all over the world have passed through since then – over 12,000 every year. You can learn more about the history of this amazing site here.

Participants on our trip will have the opportunity to take part in adventurous activities in a glorious alpine setting both on the site itself and in the surrounding area.

They will also meet Scouts from other countries and experience different Scouting cultures from around the world.
