Dear Parents
We are now just over 1 month until departure. Please make sure you read everything on this message carefully. There is also a copy on our website.
Here is a checklist of all that we need you to know and do before we head off to Kandersteg.
Personal Details Form
Please complete the additional personal details form using the link below. This is separate to the Passport form which was completed earlier. We need everyone's details together and up-to-date and that's too difficult with OSM. You must complete this form by 3 July. (3 weeks before departure). This is also our final consent form and is mandatory.
️ Activity List
We can confirm that we have a range of activities booked including climbing in Winteregg, abseiling, hikes, canyoning, white water rafting, zip lining, swimming and much more. You will also get to meet people from all over the world at the international scout centre. It's going to be a blast.
Kit List and Kit Check
Kit List: For a list of what to bring and luggage limits, follow the link below:
https://explorers.southamptoncityscouts.org.uk/kitlist/summer-camp-outsidePacked lunch: Bring a packed breakfast for the first day of travelling. We will be arriving at the campsite at around 4pm.
Travel Money: You will need to purchase lunch on the outward journey when we arrive in Basel and dinner on the return trip. You need the equivalent of £25 in Swiss Francs for this. You may bring extra spending money if you wish but it's optional and your own responsibility.
Kit Check: There will be a kit check on Tuesday 22nd July between 7pm-8pm at 2nd Southampton Scout Hut. Everyone is required to attend this.
Departure Details
When: Thursday 24th July. Meet at 3:30am at the latest. Coach will leave promptly at 3:45am with or without you.

Explorers: When you arrive please hand in your passport to the group leader and sign in.
Network (18+): You are responsible for your own passports for the duration of the trip.
Return Details
When: 4th August. Estimated time of arrival back in Southampton is 1:00am. We will send a text message at around 11:00pm with an update when we are due to land.

We be sharing regular updates using Instagram on the @SouthamptonScouts profile.
Leaders will have mobile phones while on camp and you can contact us in an emergency.

Order Extra Switzerland 2025 Badges!
You’ll all receive one as participants of the trip, so if you just want the one badge to remember the trip by then no need to do anything further. However, if you’d like to have a few extra for fundraising or swapping, now is the time to let us know! We will then hand them to you on the trip.
